Minna, Nigeria — The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully concluded the airlift of all intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj, marking the end of a smooth and timely operation.
According to a statement released by the board’s Information Officer, Jibril Kodo, a total of 3,035 pilgrims were transported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across seven separate flights. The final group touched down in Madina in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Pilgrims on the seventh and final flight will begin their five-day stay in Madina, in line with the Hajj schedule, while those who departed earlier — flights one through six — have already arrived in Mecca and are preparing for the core Hajj rites.
Kodo highlighted the efficiency of this year’s exercise, describing it as one of the most organized and prompt Hajj operations Niger State has witnessed in recent years.
“The cooperation of stakeholders and the discipline of the pilgrims contributed greatly to the success of the airlift,” the board noted, commending the smooth coordination with aviation authorities and relevant Hajj agencies.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to supporting pilgrims throughout the duration of their spiritual journey, ensuring their welfare, safety, and compliance with Hajj regulations.
