Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) represented by the Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizen Awareness (CCLCA) have come together to express their unanimous support and confidence in Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President. The CSOs affirm that Gbajabiamila possesses the essential qualities of character, capability, and competence.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Dr. Nwambu Gabriel, the leader of the group, conveyed this vote of confidence. He emphasized that their decision to endorse Gbajabiamila’s capabilities is a response to recent criticisms that have questioned his impartiality in the appointment of ministers and other high-ranking government officials.
Dr. Gabriel highlighted the significance of dismissing unfounded allegations against Gbajabiamila and reiterated that he is a seasoned professional with the required expertise to effectively carry out his responsibilities. He noted that Gbajabiamila has faced sharp criticisms from certain political actors who are spreading false information against him, likely due to their disappointment at not being appointed to ministerial and other positions. He clarified that positions are appointed through a process involving the President, the All Progressive Congress (APC) leadership, governors, and other key stakeholders.
Dr. Gabriel praised Gbajabiamila as a bridge builder, competent and integrity-driven leader, and people-centered lawmaker. He urged others to allow Gbajabiamila to perform his role without unnecessary aspersions and false allegations, emphasizing that it’s too early to attempt to disrupt the administration with baseless claims.
