C&S Church Calls for Job Creation to Tackle Insecurity

Lagos, NigeriaThe Cherubim and Seraphim Church (Praying Band) has called on the Federal Government to prioritize job creation and youth empowerment as a strategy to curb insecurity and killings across Nigeria.

The call was made by His Eminence Ferguson Eneogwe, Supreme Head of the Church, in a statement commemorating the Church’s 100th anniversary, released at a press briefing in Lagos.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Eneogwe emphasized that sustainable economic empowerment is critical to national peace and development. He urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to intensify efforts in reducing unemployment and poverty.

“The rising wave of insecurity can be addressed if government takes deliberate steps to create jobs and empower citizens across all sectors,” he stated.

Highlighting the Church’s ongoing spiritual commitment, Eneogwe also stressed the role of intercessory prayer in securing the nation’s future. “Prayer remains essential,” he said. “At midnight, across all our branches, we sing hymns and intercede for the peace and unity of Nigeria.”

The centenary celebrations, themed “Unity in Diversity”, were unveiled during the press event, and include a nationwide revival crusade, church growth seminars, remembrance services, musical concerts, CSR initiatives, and a grand thanksgiving service scheduled for Saturday, December 6.

Representing the Church’s Central Executive Council, the spokesperson noted that the Praying Band was founded in December 1925 to uphold the C&S Church’s mission of prayer, evangelism, and spiritual healing—a commitment the church maintains to this day.
