Police eliminate suspected kidnapper and rescue hostage in Enugu.

Enugu, NigeriaThe Enugu State Police Command has successfully neutralised a suspected kidnapper and rescued a male victim, following swift tactical operations by its anti-kidnapping squad.

The operation was confirmed in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, who revealed that the suspect was intercepted while attempting to flee with the victim in a green-coloured Nissan Almera. The abduction reportedly occurred around 9 p.m. in the Government Residential Area (GRA) of Enugu, where the victim had been taken at gunpoint from his Mercedes Jeep.

Recovered from the scene were a locally-made double-barreled pistol loaded with two live cartridges and the vehicle used for the crime.

SP Ndukwe further disclosed that the kidnappers had transported the victim to an undisclosed location before police operatives intervened.

Upon receiving information on the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bitrus Giwa, promptly deployed both intelligence and tactical teams. His directive was clear—rescue the victim unhurt and apprehend all those involved.

The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
