Tinubu Urges Governors to Prioritize Results, Not Distractions

Katsina state , Nigeria: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on state governors to remain focused on delivering impactful governance, stressing that tangible achievements will speak louder than criticism. He urged them to ignore detractors and instead let their work define their leadership.

Speaking during a two-day working visit to Katsina State, the President underscored the importance of prioritizing citizens’ welfare in development efforts. “Let the people be at the heart of your programmes. Your hard work and concrete achievements will answer any criticism. Ignore distractions—your results will speak for you,” he said.

He also inaugurated the Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre aimed at advancing modern farming techniques.

Addressing security concerns, the President commended the state’s resilience in the face of terrorism and banditry. He reaffirmed the federal government’s support, stating, “You will not walk alone. The federal government will be with you.”

Once we liberate ourselves from hunger, we will fully appreciate peace and harmony,” he noted.

Highlighting Katsina’s shift towards agriculture-led development, the President encouraged other states to emulate the mechanisation drive. “Farming must become our new economic anchor. Oil dependency should give way to agricultural prosperity,” he added.

Governor Radda, in his remarks, detailed the state’s agricultural advancements, including the acquisition of 400 tractors funded through a N25 billion federal intervention, distribution of 448,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser last year, and improved irrigation systems via 4,000 pumping machines.
