Let Performance Define You— Tinubu Charges Governors

Katsina, NigeriaPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on state governors across Nigeria to prioritize impactful governance and remain undeterred by unconstructive criticism.

The President made this call during his official two-day working visit to Katsina State, where he emphasized that the true essence of leadership lies in the visible improvement of people’s lives.

“Governance must reflect the needs of the people,” Tinubu said. “Let your accomplishments respond to critics. Stay focused on delivery—results will always silence distractions.”

The President made the remarks while commissioning key projects in the state, including the newly completed Eastern Bypass, which connects Dutsin-ma Road with Kano and Daura Roads, terminating at Yandaki in Kaita Local Government Area.

He also inaugurated the Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre, part of ongoing efforts to revolutionize the state’s agrarian economy.

Commending the resilience of Katsina State amidst ongoing security challenges, President Tinubu acknowledged the courage of the state government in the face of terrorism and banditry.

“You have chosen progress over fear. The federal government stands with you. You are not alone in this journey,” he assured.

The President further underscored the urgency of tackling hunger and poverty as pivotal to national peace.

“Our economy is gaining momentum, and we are working tirelessly to ensure food security. Whether through smallholder initiatives or commercial agriculture, we must modernize farming practices. Mechanisation and efficient water management are critical. The outdated methods are no longer sustainable,” Tinubu remarked.

He stressed that agriculture remains central to Nigeria’s development agenda and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enabling citizens to thrive through inclusive, forward-looking policies.

“Our success as a nation will be rooted in how well we feed and empower our people,” he concluded.
