The announcement, made ahead of the highly anticipated tournament scheduled to hold in Côte d’Ivoire from July 26 to August 3, sets the stage for a competitive showdown as D’Tigress eyes a record-extending seventh continental title.
The Nigerian team, widely regarded as one of Africa’s strongest basketball squads, will be aiming to build on their historic performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where they reached the quarter-final stage—an achievement that underscored their rising global profile.
According to the official draw, host nation Côte d’Ivoire finds itself in a challenging Group A with basketball powerhouses Angola and Egypt. Group B will see a faceoff between Mali, Cameroon, and South Sudan, while Senegal, Uganda, and Guinea are set to compete in Group C.
All tournament fixtures will be held at the iconic Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, promising a vibrant celebration of African basketball excellence.
