Olukoyede urges Christians to embrace anti-corruption values

EasterThe Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has called on Christians across Nigeria to use the Easter season as a time of rededication to integrity and anti-corruption values.

Speaking in Abuja on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Olukoyede emphasized that Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolizes renewal and restoration—principles crucial to fighting corruption.

“Easter offers an opportunity for revival and restoration. May this season inspire in us a renewed commitment to integrity, transparency, and the higher ideals necessary for national development,” he stated.

He reminded Christians of the sacrifices of Jesus Christ, urging citizens to make similar sacrifices for the good of the nation. “Rebuilding our country is a collective responsibility. It demands commitment and sacrifice from all Nigerians, regardless of background or belief,” Olukoyede said.

The EFCC chairman also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as aligned with the Christian message of resurrection and revival. He encouraged Nigerians to maintain faith in the country and continue pushing for reform and progress.

Reaffirming the EFCC’s dedication to the anti-graft fight, Olukoyede called on all stakeholders to remain steadfast. “We have put our hands on the plough—we cannot afford to look back,” he concluded.
