Knee surgery test rules out Chelsea Midfielder Carney

Chelsea Midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka has been ruled out for six weeks after undergoing knee surgery on Monday.

Chukwuemeka sustained the injury during Chelsea’s match against the Hammers, West Ham on Saturday, a fixture that saw the Blues lose 3-1.

The 19-year old midfielder was outstanding all through the match and scored the only goal for Chelsea before being injured.

Chukwuemeka who took to his twitter handle described his first goal for Chelsea and the loss to West Ham as a bitter-sweet feeling.

Chelsea who confirmed Chukwuemeka’s injury said he would now begin rehabilitation, working with the club’s medical department at their Cobham training facility.

Chukwuemeka was brought from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window and has since started the club’s opening two matches.
