Kigali, Rwanda — Ademola Lookman affirms the Super Eagles’ readiness for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda, stressing that the team is not under any pressure to win.
In a statement to Ojb Sports, Lookman, the Atalanta forward, stated that the three-time African champions are fully prepared for the challenge ahead, despite the stakes.
“There’s no pressure. I’m just happy to be back with the team. We have a big task ahead, and we are looking forward to it,” Lookman said. “We’ve had a lot of meetings, discussing how the manager wants us to play, our game plan, and the tactics for both defense and attack. It’s all positive, and we are all buying into the manager’s ideas.”
Reflecting on the team’s preparations, Lookman shared insights on their recent sessions.
“We had our second training session today, and yesterday’s session went well too. Positive vibes all around. Before training, we had meetings to go over the plans, and we’re now putting those into action on the field.”
With Rwanda still winless after four games in Group C, the Super Eagles face the Amavubi in a crucial encounter at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali this Friday.
