Sokoto, Nigeria — Former Governor of Sokoto State and serving Senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim the presidency from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Tambuwal made this declaration during the flag-off ceremony for a Ramadan relief initiative in Sokoto, where food items were distributed to residents in need.
As part of the initiative, PDP lawmakers at both the state and national levels have coordinated the distribution of thousands of bags of rice and other essential grains, particularly targeting youth and women-led organizations to support them during the sacred month of Ramadan.
“We must be grateful to Allah for granting us the opportunity to witness another Ramadan, especially after the many lives lost. We continue to seek His grace for good health and long life to celebrate many more blessed months,” Tambuwal remarked.
The former governor also commended the PDP leadership for its commitment to strengthening the party, acknowledging their relentless efforts in mobilizing and uniting members in Sokoto State.
He reaffirmed that PDP remains a cohesive and determined force, fully focused on reclaiming the mandate lost in previous elections.
“Our victory was unjustly taken from us, but by the grace of Allah, we will reclaim it in 2027,” he assured.
Earlier in the event, Sokoto State PDP Chairman, Bello Goronyo, expressed deep appreciation for the loyalty and dedication of party members, emphasizing that PDP remains the only party truly committed to the well-being of Nigerians.
Goronyo criticized the current administration, arguing that the economic struggles Nigerians face today were nonexistent under PDP rule. He urged the people of Sokoto and Nigerians at large to work towards political change, calling on them to reject what he described as APC’s misgovernance in 2027.
With the party’s restructuring and strategic planning already underway, PDP leaders remain resolute in their quest to reclaim power and chart a new course for Nigeria’s future.
