Gombe, Nigeria — Residents of Kaltungo Local Government Area in Gombe State were left in shock on Friday morning following the discovery of a woman’s lifeless body hanging from a tree.
The unsettling sight, with the body swaying in the wind, immediately sparked speculation within the community regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
Eyewitnesses reported that the deceased remains unidentified, leading to widespread debate over whether it was an act of suicide or a case of foul play. While some locals believe she took her own life, others suspect she may have been murdered and later staged to appear as a suicide.
Confirming the incident, the Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Buhari Abdullahi, acknowledged the tragic event and assured the public that further investigations would be conducted.
However, in an initial statement, Abdullahi indicated that early findings suggest it was a case of suicide.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm as efforts are underway to uncover the full details behind the incident.
