Reno Says Natasha Should Take Lie Detector Test Over Issues

NigeriaFormer presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has called on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to undergo a lie detector test following her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a video posted on social media, Omokri accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of making similar false claims against him in 2021. He recalled how she had alleged that he harassed her at a state banquet hosted by former President Goodluck Jonathan on May 6, 2014.

Refuting the claim, Omokri stated that he was in the United States at the time, working as a special envoy to address Nigeria’s image after the Chibok girls’ abduction. He provided evidence, including passport stamps and a first-class British Airways ticket, to prove he was not in Nigeria during the alleged incident.

According to Omokri, after he presented his evidence, Akpoti-Uduaghan deleted her accusations from social media. He also disclosed that the matter was later resolved out of court, with her husband, Emmanuel Oritshejolomi Uduaghan, and a senior clergyman mediating the settlement.

Drawing parallels between her past accusations and the current allegations against Akpabio, Omokri questioned her credibility. He urged Nigerians not to judge Akpabio prematurely and insisted that Akpoti-Uduaghan should take a lie detector test to validate her claims.

“Before Nigerians crucify Akpabio, let Natasha Akpoti take a lie detector test,” he said. “Until she does, the presumption is that she is acting based on past behavior.”
