Nigeria – Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has finally opened up about her prolonged absence from the movie industry, citing family responsibilities as the major reason.
In an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, the actress revealed that she had to step away from acting to focus on raising her children, who were living abroad.
“There’s a time in a woman’s life and in her children’s lives when they need you more than ever,” she explained. “My children are abroad, so I had to leave everything to go take care of them.”
She emphasized the importance of a mother’s presence in her children’s lives, especially at critical stages of their development.
“You don’t want to leave your children with just anyone abroad, especially at a certain age,” she continued. “That’s when they start saying, ‘You’re not my mom, you can’t talk to me like that.’ So, I had to be there myself.”
Despite her hiatus, Bukky Wright reassured fans that she never fell out of love with acting and is now ready to take on new projects.
“I’m back, and there are still a lot of things I’m looking forward to doing in Nollywood,” she concluded.
Her return to the industry has been met with excitement from fans who have missed her presence on screen.
