Liverpool, England — Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has asserted that his goal-scoring exploits outweigh those of Manchester City’s prolific striker, Erling Haaland.
Speaking to Sky Germany ahead of Liverpool’s crucial showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, the Egyptian star highlighted the challenges of scoring from the wing compared to playing as a central striker.
“I have great respect for Haaland. We’ve only spoken once after our last match, but his role as a striker makes things easier for him,” Salah remarked.
The Liverpool talisman emphasized the positional differences between them, suggesting that his achievements carry more weight given the added difficulty of scoring as a winger.
“Being a winger, reaching such goal tallies is far more challenging. Any winger will agree. That’s why I see a distinction between us, saying he’s a striker, and I’m a winger,” he explained.
As the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester City continues to intensify, Salah’s comments add another layer of intrigue to the much-anticipated fixture.
