APC Applauds Osun Residents for Boycotting Local Government Elections

Osun – The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised residents for rejecting what it described as an “illegal” local government election organized by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC).

The party expressed satisfaction with the widespread boycott across all 30 local government areas and the Modakeke Area Office, stating that the people demonstrated their commitment to democracy and the rule of law.

APC criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for proceeding with the election despite security advisories, calling the exercise a “sham” marred by irregularities such as pre-thumbprinted ballot papers and the absence of voter accreditation.

The party also condemned the reported loss of lives in Irojo, Ilesa, and called for a thorough investigation into the violence.

APC reaffirmed its stance that there are no vacancies in the local government administration, as upheld by a recent Court of Appeal ruling. The party maintained that its reinstated chairmen and councillors would resume their duties as usual.
