Court arrested laborer for allegedly stealing ‘pomo’

In Kano State, a Sharia Court has ruled that Abdulwahab Yusuf, a 23-year-old man who admitted to stealing cow skin valued at N8,500, should be remanded in a correctional facility. Yusuf, a resident of Tukuntawa Quarters in Kano, was brought before the court on a theft charge by the police.

Presiding Judge Umar Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the case until August 22 for a summary trial.

The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, informed the court that the complainant, Fatihu Auwal, who also resides in Tukuntawa Quarters, lodged a complaint at the Fagge Police Station in Kano on August 5. According to Wada, the defendant unlawfully entered the complainant’s stand and stole the cow skin.
