Tella Shortlisted for Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month Award

Leverkusen, Germany  — Nigerian winger Nathan Tella has been nominated for Bayer Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month award for January.

Tella earned the nomination for his stunning strike in Leverkusen’s 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on January 10.

The 24-year-old netted Die Werkself’s opening goal in the first minute after receiving a precise assist from Robert Andrich. The goal marked his first of the season under manager Xabi Alonso.

So far, Tella has featured in 16 Bundesliga matches this campaign and is now in contention to claim the award for the first time since joining the club.

Other nominees for the accolade include Alejandro Grimaldo, Florian Wirtz, and Patrick Schick.
