Osogbo Stadium Renovation on Track for Timely Completion 

Osogbo, Nigeria  —   The renovation of the Osogbo Township Stadium is progressing steadily, with contractors working diligently to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.

During an inspection on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a delegation of sports enthusiasts and media representatives expressed optimism that the project would meet its scheduled delivery date.

According to Arc. John Ewule, Project Manager, the two outdoor pitches are expected to be completed by May 2025, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of the stadium. The extensive renovation is being executed by Maxwell International Ventures Limited.

Construction efforts are in full swing, with cranes, bulldozers, cement trucks, drilling rigs, and hauling trucks actively engaged on-site to accelerate progress on the modern sports complex.

“This is a complete overhaul of the stadium,” Arc. Ewule stated. “We are introducing a state-of-the-art scoreboard, an ultra-modern VIP section, upgraded field lighting, enhanced seating, and improved concession areas.”

He underscored that the project aligns with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s vision for sports development, talent discovery, and economic growth in Osun State. Beyond sports, the stadium will feature hostels to accommodate athletes and visiting teams, generating additional revenue for the state.

Reaffirming the commitment to delivering on schedule, Arc. Ewule emphasized that the upgraded stadium will offer year-round opportunities for sports, entertainment, and economic activities.

Upon completion, the revamped Osogbo Township Stadium will include:

Two artificial turf fields

One natural grass pitch

An artificial hockey pitch

A multipurpose indoor sports hall

Two tartan tracks

A squash court

A swimming pool

Hostels and a hotels

Covered seating for the main bowl pitch

A shopping complex to boost economic activity

The enhanced facility is poised to host national and international sporting events, further elevating Osun State’s status in Nigeria’s sports landscape.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to delivering a world-class sports complex that will serve as a hub for talent development and economic growth.
