Bauchi, Nigeria — Security operatives, in collaboration with local hunters, have eliminated two suspected armed bandits in a targeted operation within the Dajin-Madan Forest, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Acting on credible intelligence and established community networks, the joint security team encountered the suspects during a surveillance mission in the dense forest, leading to an armed confrontation.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday morning, Spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil, stated that the operation was a proactive measure to curb criminal activities in the region.
He revealed that several other assailants sustained injuries and fled into the surrounding bush in disarray, evading capture.
During the encounter, security personnel recovered one AK-49 rifle and nine rounds of live ammunition from the neutralized suspects.
“This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of our security forces and community partners in the fight against banditry,” CSP Wakil stated. “The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its mission to work with stakeholders to safeguard lives and property while ensuring that criminal elements are brought to justice.”
He further assured the public that law enforcement agencies would sustain efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region, fostering a safer environment for all residents.
