Osun Govt Confirms New Olojudo of Ido Ajegunle, Five Others.

Osogbo, Nigeria  —  The Osun State Executive Council has approved the appointment of Prince Timileyin Oluyemi Ajayi, a UK-based IT engineer, as the new Olojudo of Ido Ajegunle in Obokun Local Government Area.

The newly appointed monarch, who holds a degree in Office and Information Management from Lead City University, Ibadan, is a seasoned entrepreneur with business interests spanning the hospitality and agricultural sectors.

In addition to Prince Ajayi’s appointment, the government also ratified the selection of Prince Emmanuel Adesokan Ayoola as the Oluwaro of Iwaro in Ife North Local Government and Prince Kazeem Deji Ogungbe as the Oniwata of Iwata in Irewole Local Government.

Further reinforcing the traditional leadership structure, the council approved the elevation of several local chiefs, including the Baale Owajigbo of Ejigbo-Orangun, Baale Owamagbon of Ila, and Baale Owafaye of Obalogbo-Ila under the Ila Traditional Council. Others upgraded include the Baale Osi Okero-Ife, Baale Mayowa Ifegunle-Ife, Olu of Apatalami-Ife, Baale Ayede Temidire Town, and Baale Akingbade of Ayetutu Ipoye-Ife under the Ife Traditional Council.

The council also recognized additional traditional rulers by granting Part II chieftaincy status to the Looyin of Olodo Okebode-Ijesa, Ologbese of Ogbese (Atakunmosa West), Alaye of Daramola-Ijesa (Atakunmosa East), Baale of Ajitena (Ejigbo Traditional Council), and Olaota of Osunwoyin (Ayedire Local Government), in line with the Chiefs Law, Cap. 25, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

Chaired by Governor Ademola Adeleke, the council further approved the release of the White Paper on the findings of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Chieftaincy dispute.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening traditional institutions in Osun State, ensuring the stability and continuity of its cultural heritage.
