Between February and December 2023, the Federal Government successfully repatriated 5,219 Nigerians from Niger, Libya, and other countries, demonstrating its resolve to assist stranded citizens abroad.
Collaborative Reception and Reintegration
The returnees were received by a coalition of agencies, including the NCFRMI, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), and Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
Upon arrival, the migrants were registered, profiled, and enrolled in reintegration programs designed to facilitate their smooth transition back into their communities.
