The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspected burglar, David Adediji, for breaking into a home in Okorowepo, Idiroko area of the state.
Adediji allegedly entered the home through a window, damaging the iron security bars, and struck the female resident on the head with an iron rod.
The suspect made away with valuables worth over N200,000, including a Techno Spark phone worth N150,000 and N52,000 in cash. He also injured the victim on the back and leg while trying to flee the scene.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the suspect is known for using iron tools to break into homes to steal. Adediji has confessed to committing the crime, and preliminary investigation has commenced for further information and likely prosecution.
