Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has signed the 2025 budget, valued at ₦606.99 billion, into law. The budget, titled “Changing Gears 2.0,” was approved during a ceremony at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia on Monday, just a month after its presentation to the State House of Assembly.
Governor Soludo highlighted the budget’s alignment with the five cardinal pillars of his administration, prioritizing infrastructure development and human capital investment. Of the total budget, ₦467.5 billion (77%) is allocated to capital projects, while ₦139.5 billion (23%) is designated for recurrent expenditure. The 2025 budget marks a significant 48% increase from the previous year’s budget.
The Governor commended the State House of Assembly, represented by Speaker Dr. Somtochukwu Udeze and Finance Committee Chair Mr. Ejike Okechukwu, for their timely review and approval of the budget. He emphasized that swift implementation, set to begin on January 1, 2025, would drive the state’s development agenda forward.
The budget aims to reinforce Governor Soludo’s vision of sustainable growth and improved quality of life for Anambra residents.
