Governor Oyebanji fulfilled his promise to 17-Year-Old Idris

Idris Ajetomobi was among the over 100 barbers mobilized by the Ekiti State Barbers’ Association, who benefitted from Governor Oyebanji’s empowerment program last week through the Office of Community Communications.

During the event, it was discovered that Idris, despite completing his apprenticeship, had been unable to graduate and establish himself due to financial constraints. Governor Oyebanji, moved by his plight, immediately promised to cover his graduation fee.

With so much excitement, 17-year-old Idris received his long-awaited graduation fee of ₦250,000 today, with his graduation ceremony now scheduled for Monday, December 23, 2024. The cash transfer was done by the Director-General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso-Omotosho.

Idris’ father, Mr. Lateef Ajetomobi shared that his son had completed his secondary school education but, due to financial challenges, had not been enrolled in a university. To ensure Idris’ time was not wasted while awaiting admission, the family decided to enroll him in vocational training.

Governor Oyebanji’s social intervention programs are not only about providing immediate relief but also strategically uncovering and addressing deeper needs within communities. Without last week’s empowerment program, Idris’ challenge might have remained unknown.

The Governor’s dedication to assisting the less privileged is not new. Even before assuming office, his philanthropic gestures were well-known. Now, as Governor, he has a larger platform to amplify his impact and extend his reach to more citizens in need.

Governor Oyebanji’s shared prosperity vision ensures that people with vocational skills can conveniently cater to their needs and their families’ without leaving anyone behind.
