The Ekiti State Government has refuted claims of a ₦25,000 Christmas cash grant allegedly distributed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, urging residents to disregard the rumor.
In a statement released on Thursday, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, labeled the information as false and warned the public against falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
“This is to notify the public that the circulating claims about a ₦25,000 Christmas cash grant from Governor Biodun Oyebanji are entirely untrue,” Oyebode said. “The governor does not distribute cash grants or engage in any form of monetary disbursement through unofficial channels or online platforms.”
He further advised residents to exercise caution and avoid sharing personal information with unauthorized individuals or websites posing as representatives of the government.
“All official announcements from the Ekiti State Government are made through verified channels and authorized state officials. We urge the public to rely solely on these sources for accurate information,” Oyebode added.
