Federal Government Debunks Fake Ambassadorial List

The Federal Government has dismissed a circulating list of ambassadorial nominees on social media as fake, urging the public to disregard it.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, clarified that no such appointments have been made.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the general public to disregard the fake list of ambassadorial nominees circulating on social media,” the statement read.

It further emphasized that appointing ambassadors is the sole prerogative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and no official announcements have been made in that regard.

The statement concluded by urging Nigerians to discountenance the purported list, which lacks any basis in fact.

President Tinubu recalled the heads of Nigerian foreign missions over a year ago but has yet to appoint their replacements.
