Davido says his comments on the economy have sparked threats to cancel his show.

Afrobeats artist Davidohas claimed that he is facing threats of having his show canceled following his criticism of the Nigerian economy on an American podcast.

Davido had expressed his concerns about the state of the economy in Nigeria during an appearance on the ‘Big Homies House’ podcast, advising US citizens against relocating to Africa, especially Nigeria, due to the country’s economic challenges.

His comments attracted criticism from various prominent Nigerians, including Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri.

In response to the backlash, Davido asserted that entertainers are the true representatives of their country and should not be silenced.

In a social media post, Davido stated that there are threats to cancel his upcoming show in Lagos this December as a result of his remarks.

He further expressed his disregard for the threats, stating, “Dem say dem go cancel my show cus of my interview … loooool I don’t have to perform in Nigeria.”
