Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has been ruled out of Nigeria’s final Group C qualifying match for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against Rwanda.
Aina was released to return to his club after sustaining a minor injury during Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Benin Republic on Thursday. The 27-year-old started the match but was substituted in the 83rd minute, with Bright Osayi-Samuel coming on as his replacement.
The Super Eagles, who have already secured qualification for the AFCON 2025 finals, will face Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday.
