The Senate, on Wednesday evening, confirmed the appointment of seven ministerial nominees proposed by President Bola Tinubu for roles in the Federal Executive Council (FEC). This decision followed an extended screening session held by the Senate’s Committee of the Whole, where the nominees answered questions on their qualifications and plans.
The newly confirmed Ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment; and Ambassador Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Other appointees are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, who will head the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment; Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
Last week, President Tinubu had formally requested prompt consideration of these nominations by the Senate, aiming to fill key positions within his cabinet.
