The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria has announced the commencement of its first Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, scheduled from Friday, October 25 through Friday, December 20, 2024.
According to a statement released by Adesina Moyosola Fadekemi, Acting Head of the Public Affairs Department, the CB-WASSCE will use a hybrid format, with multiple-choice questions administered digitally on-screen. Candidates will respond to these objective questions directly on their screens, ensuring a seamless test experience.
In addition, Fadekemi noted that while essay and practical sections will also be presented digitally, candidates will record their answers using traditional answer booklets provided at the testing centers.
The statement further explains, “This examination offers an alternative for candidates who prefer the Paper and Pen format for all their exams.”
WAEC also announced an extension for registration, allowing candidates to enroll until Tuesday, October 29, 2024. A “Walk-in-Candidate” option is available, permitting registration up to 24 hours before a specific exam paper is scheduled.
