150 Suspected Internet Fraud Trainees Arrested at ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’ School in Delta Army Estate

Military personnel from the 3 Battalion Nigerian Army barracks in Effurun, Delta State, have apprehended 150 youths suspected of engaging in internet fraud. The suspects were arrested at an alleged cybercrime training facility located within the Army Estate, Effurun, Uvwie, and have been handed over to the police for prosecution.

According to reports, the arrests followed an intelligence operation that uncovered the existence of the “Hustle Kingdom” (HK) School, a training ground for aspiring internet fraudsters. The facility was allegedly using the Army Estate, a secure residential area for retired military officers and civilians, as a cover for its illegal activities.

Military operatives, acting on months of intelligence gathering, conducted a raid on the premises, arresting over 150 individuals, including the alleged owner of the training center and several accomplices. The suspects are currently being profiled at Ekpan Police Station in preparation for legal proceedings.

Sources revealed that the military first arrested around 90 suspects in an early Saturday morning operation, with an additional 60 individuals taken into custody during a subsequent raid later that day.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests, stating, “Around 150 suspects were apprehended in connection with the HK School. Soldiers conducted the raids based on intelligence reports.” The suspects are expected to face charges for their involvement in cybercrime activities.
