The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victorious in the chairmanship elections held on Saturday across all 17 local government areas in the state.
Announcing the results on Sunday, ENSIEC Chairman, Prof. Christian Ngwu, stated that the elections were free and fair, emphasizing that the commission meticulously collated and analyzed the results to avoid any errors. “We carefully collated and analyzed the results to ensure there were no mistakes,” Ngwu said.
None of the opposition candidates who contested the elections were present at the ENSIEC Collation Centre during the announcement of the results.
Greg Amyaegbudike, the chairman-elect for Oji River Local Government, expressed gratitude for the victory, pledging to focus on youth empowerment. He promised to create employment opportunities and organize skills acquisition programs to benefit the youth. “I’ll make sure the youth of Oji River are gainfully employed. Those who are employable will definitely get jobs,” he assured.
