The France Anti-Fraud Office, says the search engine of the United States tech giant lacked information on the ranking criteria of results.
French authorities consequentially imposed a €2 million fine on Google on Tuesday over incomplete results in its search engine and app store.
According to the checkmate Organization, results for vacation accommodation searches lacked price justifications.
It also stated that the Google Play Store lacked information on the ranking criteria of results, payment information, and dispute resolution methods.
The company also did not provide consumers with explanations for not publishing their app reviews in the store.
The anti-fraud office says Google has since corrected part of the sanctioned shortcoming.
A Google spokesman said the company expressed displeasure over the changes had not been taken into account by the agency.
