Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday claimed the lives of at least 27 people, according to Palestinian medical sources cited by Reuters. Among the casualties were two women and two children, who were killed in Nuseirat, a central Gaza location.
In a related incident in Qaryout, a village south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, a 13-year-old girl, Bana Amjad Bakr, died from injuries sustained after being shot by Israeli forces. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the shooting occurred during an attack by illegal Jewish settlers, allegedly supported by Israeli troops.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that their teams provided emergency assistance to Bakr during the clashes. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. According to her father, Bakr was shot while inside her bedroom.
Since October 7, the West Bank has seen a sharp rise in settler attacks, with UN reports indicating that over 1,200 Palestinians have been displaced and numerous structures have been destroyed by Israeli forces and settlers. Bakr’s death brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank since October 7 to 692.
