The National Unity Forum (NUF), a non-governmental organization focused on promoting national unity and diversity, has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi on his recent appointment as Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) by President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement released by the NUF’s National Coordinator, Comrade Godwin Meliga, on Wednesday, the Forum highlighted Mr. Ajayi’s impressive track record in the security sector. They praised his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to Nigeria, noting that he is well-equipped to lead the DSS at this critical juncture.
The statement emphasized Mr. Ajayi’s extensive experience and in-depth understanding of Nigeria’s complex security landscape, positioning him as the right person to head the DSS. Comrade Meliga also stressed that the nation is currently facing severe security challenges, such as Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, and other organized crimes across the country. He expressed optimism that under Ajayi’s leadership, the DSS would collaborate with other security agencies to develop effective strategies to tackle these issues and restore peace and stability.
The Forum also commended President Bola Tinubu for his strategic decision to appoint Mr. Ajayi, describing it as another example of the President’s ability to match the right talent with critical roles. The NUF praised the President’s commitment to ensuring that key positions are filled by individuals with the vision and expertise to advance his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ for national progress.
“Mr. Ajayi’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Nigeria, and we are confident his tenure will lead to significant progress in addressing the nation’s security challenges,” said Comrade Meliga.
The Forum further urged DSS operatives to offer full support to their new Director-General, emphasizing that teamwork and unity are essential for achieving success. The NUF also pledged its own support to Mr. Ajayi and called on Nigerians to rally behind him, reminding everyone that safeguarding national security is a shared responsibility.
The group wished Mr. Ajayi a productive and impactful tenure and reaffirmed its commitment to backing initiatives that promote peace, unity, and security in Nigeria.
