The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the monthly stipends for corps members will be increased to align with the newly approved federal minimum wage for civil servants.
NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, made the announcement during his visits to the orientation camps in Dakingari, Kebbi State, and Wamakko, Sokoto State. He reassured corps members that their welfare is a priority, and the adjustment in their stipends will reflect the new wage structure.
General Ahmed commended the contributions of corps members to Nigeria’s socio-economic development, highlighting the importance of their selfless service to the nation. He also encouraged them to see the service year as a valuable period for personal development and career planning.
Furthermore, he urged the corps members to take full advantage of the NYSC’s skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs, designed to equip them with practical skills that can lead to self-reliance and long-term success.
