British National Fails to Respond to Police Summons

The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that Andrew Wynne, a British national wanted in connection with alleged subversive activities and terrorism financing, has refused to respond to several invitations for questioning.

Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that multiple efforts had been made to engage Wynne regarding the accusations, but he consistently failed to appear. Adejobi further noted that Wynne has now fled Nigeria, seemingly to avoid being taken into custody.

This development contradicts a statement Wynne made just a day earlier, in which he expressed willingness to cooperate with the authorities and face questioning.

Wife Defends Husband, Claims False Accusation

In an interview with Channels Television, Wynne’s Nigerian wife dismissed the charges against her husband, insisting that the allegations are unfounded.

She suggested that the accusations are driven by a personal vendetta rather than any real intent to overthrow the government. According to her, the charges were orchestrated by a Nigerian individual who owes Wynne money and is using the accusations as a means to avoid repaying the debt.

“We’ve been together for nine years—eight years of friendship before we finally married last year. My husband is being falsely accused; he has never been involved in terrorism. The real issue is that one Mr. Olumide, who owes him, is using these charges to force him out of the country without repaying the debt,” she explained.
