The leadership of the Deeper Life Church has disavowed any connection to a 60-year-old man named Obatayo Adetunji, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and claiming to be a pastor at the church.
The church clarified that Adetunji is not affiliated with the church as a pastor and condemned rumors circulating on social media alleging his ties to the church.
According to Pastor Oludu David, the Oka Regional Overseer, Adetunji is neither a pastor nor a worker at Deeper Life Bible Church in the Oka Region, and only sought financial assistance from the church in 2023.
The church urged the public to disregard any claims linking the suspect to the church. Subsequently, Adetunji was arrested by the state police command after the victim reported the sexual relationship to her parents.
He has been charged with three counts, including defilement and unlawfully prescribing drugs for the victim’s abortion.
