The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State has pledged its support to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in managing traffic and ensuring road safety across the state.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Mr. Olatunde Maku, made this commitment during a courtesy visit by the FRSC Sector Commander, Mrs. Joyce Alexander, at the NSCDC State Headquarters in Awka.
Mr. Maku reaffirmed the NSCDC’s dedication to working alongside the FRSC to enhance road safety and maintain order on the state’s roads. He highlighted the productive relationship he had with Mrs. Alexander’s predecessor, which contributed to significant achievements in road safety management.
In a statement issued by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo, Mr. Maku noted that the NSCDC frequently leverages the FRSC’s expertise and resources, especially its vehicle registration and driver’s license database, which has been crucial in the corps’ investigative processes.
In her remarks, Mrs. Alexander praised the NSCDC for its accomplishments and expressed gratitude for the warm reception. She also called for stronger collaboration between the two agencies, particularly in intelligence sharing and operational support during mobile court operations.
