Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed his ambition for a presidential bid but stated that he would drop his aspirations if former President Goodluck Jonathan decides to contest.
This announcement came after a Non-Governmental organization encouraged him to consider running for the presidency.
Governor Mohammed praised Jonathan’s leadership qualities and experience, stating that he believes Jonathan would excel if given the opportunity to lead the country again.
He emphasized his respect and admiration for Jonathan’s leadership style, mentioning Jonathan’s inclusive governance approach and initiatives aimed at addressing societal challenges during his tenure.
Mohammed explained that as long as Goodluck Jonathan is willing to contest the presidential election, he would step back from the race and offer his full support to Jonathan.
The governor highlighted the importance of having leaders like Jonathan in positions of power and praised his ability to connect with and address the needs of diverse segments of the population.
Additionally, Mohammed discussed his criticism of the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu, stating that it is part of his civic responsibility to hold leaders accountable and advocate for positive change in the country.
