The Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) said it has accessed its matching grants of N2.79 billion from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for project execution in the state.

A statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Aminu Jikamshi and made available to newsmen in Katsina stated that the funds accessed by the government would cater for the constructions, rehabilitations, provisions of furniture, offices, stores, toilets, and water points across the primary and junior secondary schools in the state.

The statement added that two and one percent of the funds were allocated to quality assurance, agriculture education, and sports development in the state’s primary and junior secondary schools.

It further disclosed that the state government released N1.77 billion as its 1st and 2nd quarter counterpart fund matching grants for 2024.
