FG to Provide Houses to Families of Fallen Heroes

The Federal Government has instructed the military to compile a list of fallen heroes so that their families can be provided with houses.

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, issued this directive to Major General Joseph Omale, Managing Director of the Nigerian Army Housing Development, in Abuja.

“Families of fallen heroes should have a roof over their heads,” Mr. Dangiwa stated. He further explained that the ministry has been authorized to create a system that will underpin the National Social Housing Fund.

Mr. Dangiwa praised the Nigerian Army for its support in helping the ministry fulfill its mandate.

Major General Omale visited the ministry to discuss how soldiers could access mortgage facilities at the Federal Mortgage Bank. He emphasized that the Chief of Army Staff initiated the Affordable Home Ownership scheme, primarily aimed at non-officer soldiers, to provide them with an opportunity to own a house.
