A High Court in Kwara, presided over by Justice Haleema Salman, has reserved judgment in the April 5, 2018, Offa bank robbery case until August 2, 2024.
During the session, Justice Salman adopted the final written addresses from both lead counsels, Rotimi Jacob (SAN) for the prosecution and Mathias Emeribe for the defense.
Both the prosecution and defense teams presented their arguments on points of law one after the other.
Since November 11, 2018, six individuals, including the now-deceased Michael Adikwu, have been on trial for their involvement in the case.
The robbery, which occurred on April 5, 2018, saw armed assailants attack five commercial banks in Offa, Kwara State, resulting in the deaths of over 30 people, including nine police officers.
