ISWAP notorious Commander killed by snake in Sambisa forest.

An highly placed Commander of the Islamic State of West African Province, (ISWAP), popularly known as Kiriku, has reportedly died after he was bitten badly by a venomous snake in Sambisa forest, Borno State.

The late Commander was said to have died three days after the incident and wasn’t medically attended to.

It was reported that , Kiriku sustained two snake bites from the ‘highly venomous’ brown snake in one of their hideouts in Agikur Mosque in Damboa Local Government Area last Tuesday and died on June 23, 2023.

Sources unnamed said the notorious ISWAP Commander must have died due to lack of access to medical treatments.

The late Kiriku is believed to be one of the Commanders who operate within the Jiddari axis of Chiralia in the Timbuktu triangle.

He was said to be involved in many attacks and ambushes against troops of Operation Hadin Kai between the road from Maiduguri to Damboa.
