The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has reassured Nigerians of her commitment to fighting corruption when it says that it recovered, forfeited, and restrained assets valued at over N454bn from corrupt persons in the past four years.
Giving a breakdown of the recoveries, the Deputy Director said that out of the N454.808bn, N257.492bn was found restrained by ICPC through system studies of government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The index report was gathered in a presentation by Mr. Jude Okoye, Deputy Director, Planning Research and Statistics, at the recently concluded two-day capacity-building training for Journalists reporting activities and updates afforded by the Commission.
The Anti -corruption agency added that N3.540bn was recovered through tax intervention
ICPC’s mandate rests in the investigation, prosecution, and prevention of corruption offences.
The Deputy director believes that this updated is well enough to get the trust of Nigerians about the functions of ICPC.
