Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, has announced a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Interior to streamline emergency response services across Nigeria.
In a recent post on his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), Tijani emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance government service delivery through the use of technology.
Under the agreement, the Ministry of Interior will lead the coordination of all relevant parties to consolidate existing emergency numbers into the unified and more efficient 112 emergency number, with support from the Nigerian Communications Commission.
The collaboration includes key agencies such as the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigeria Correctional Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Federal Fire Service. These agencies are tasked with improving internal security, emergency response, and related services.
