The UK’s Labour Party is predicted to secure a landslide victory in Thursday’s general election, according to an exit poll.
The poll indicates that Labour will win 410 seats, achieving a majority of 170, while the Conservatives are expected to drop to 131 seats, marking their worst performance ever.
The Liberal Democrats are projected to finish third with 61 seats, while the Scottish National Party’s representation will fall to 10 MPs. Reform UK is forecast to secure 13 MPs.
If the exit poll is accurate, Sir Keir Starmer will become Prime Minister, representing a significant turnaround for Labour following their worst post-war election result in 2019.
The exit poll, conducted by Sir John Curtice and his team, is based on data from 130 polling stations across England, Scotland, and Wales. Although it does not cover Northern Ireland, it has a history of accuracy with a margin of error of 1.5 to 7.5 seats in past elections.
The projected results would be a devastating blow to the Conservatives, who have been in power since 2010. For Labour, it would signify a major victory for the centre-left party, which has seen a resurgence under Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership.
