A devastating road accident in Imawa Town, Kura local government area of Kano State, claimed the lives of 14 people and injured several others on Friday, June 27, 2024.
The Kano State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CRC Abdullahi Labaran.
The statement detailed, “Preliminary reports indicate that a truck with the registration number MKA 537 XN lost control and collided with pedestrians who had just concluded their Friday prayers. The tragic crash resulted in fourteen fatalities and left several others injured.”
Under the leadership of Commander CC Abdullahi, the FRSC, along with other security agencies, quickly responded to the emergency. Commander CC Abdullahi called on all road users to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent such avoidable tragedies. “Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased,” Abdullahi stated, offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
