Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa says he and his team can’t afford to let their fans down by losing to the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
Jose Peseiro’s men will look to secure their place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations when they take on their fellow West Africans at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia on Sunday.
The Super Eagles have won one of their three previous encounters against John Keister’s men.
Super Eagles losing 1—0 at home to Guinea-Bissau on matchday three, Musa knows he and his teammates must get victory inorder to change bad narratives in the minds of the fans.
“We know that it is not going to be easy, maybe we win 10-0 it’s nothing new. They’ll say definitely you can do it but when we lose against them, it will be talk of the town,” Musa said to reporters.
“We know the importance so we have to do our best to win that game by God’s grace.”
The encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
